Halloween 2006

The blue eyes give it away... yes, it's Joe.

Halloween 2006 Photos

Camerin had a hard time deciding what she wanted to be for Halloween, but finally chose the "Princes Bride" (red dress).
The photos of her in the dance costume was only for the photo, just for fun--she was absolutely NOT going to be allowed out in that! Her daddy does not like the photos either, but I had to stick it in here because this pose just "happened"! She just did it on her own, and I just happen to be ready.

Joe was Darth Maul and CJ was Zoro. Both costumes were a lot of fun. I will post a better photo of Darth Maul all in black.

Tommy was happy and cozy all night in his little giraffe outfit.

Innocence is Beautiful

Here is my friends little girl who got a new white dress to wear for a special occasion at church. I wanted these photos to reflect her innocence and purity.

A is for: Ali is amazingly awesome!

Yes, Ali is my one of my gorgeous sisters. She did not want her pictures displayed for the "public" but I told her that it just comes with being my model! Here I was working on "dramatic headshots". My teacher wanted "serious" photos, HAH! That was hard to do because Ali and I were laughing too much!

I took several "dramatic" ones for my class, but then had to get some for me... I love Ali's nose crinkle when she laughs, so I had to capture those for sure!

The rest of these are just to show her off a bit...

Family Group Portraits

This is the photo I took for the Sivert Reunion last year. It's all of Ben's brothers and sisters with his parents. We call it the "original 8".

Any way, This is just one quick sample of a family group photo. I will be adding more examples in the near future.

Princess Profile

I love how this photo accentuates her profile! I just love that little nose of hers! (And her 'cartoon lips' as her daddy calls them)

Camerin's Moment

I love how this photo just shows off her gorgeous hair, and her cute little nose...

My Three Handsome Boys

CJ is a natural in front of the camera. He hates getting his picture taken, but is such a good sport and does what I ask him to. I don't have to be silly to get him to relax, because he's already relaxed-- a little too much at times. This is one case I can honestly say I've had to literally get after him for laying down on the job! These photos are the "school pictures" I took this year. I did white backdrop on all four kids so I could make a nice something or other on my wall when I get a chance!

My little Tommy is a hard guy to photograph. You wouldn't guess that he has "issues" by how cute his pictures come out, but believe me when I say he has serious anxiety problems about the whole experience! I think it freaks him out when I am placing him in a pose and then hurrying away from him to take the shot-- he starts crying and chasing after me thinking I am running from him or something. The photos I do get of him happen in a split second's time- and boy do I work up a sweat!

Joe is such a handsome boy I am always eager to take his pictures, but once he gets in front of the camera- he turns into a frozen stress ball. It is not an easy task getting him to relax and lighten up! But once I found the trick with him, I get photos of his real smiles. Being able to capture him as his real self is so rewarding for me! (I had to pretend I was "passing gas" in order to get him to give me a real giggles! And trust me, I tried every thing else first, before resorting to that! )

My Beautiful Mother

These are some photos I took of my mom this afternoon. As many may know, she and my dad have submitted their mission papers and are waiting to hear where they will be going and when they will be leaving. I will miss my mother terribly, however I am reminded of a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, " I consider myself lucky to have someone in my life who is hard to say good-bye to". Mom, I am so lucky to have you. I've never NOT had you, and it truly is a blessing to love someone as much as I love you, and to have you love me as much (if not more) in return. And, I am so proud of you for getting your photos taken. YOU are BEAUTIFUL!
My mom LOVES her earrings. She buys clothes to match the earrings she loves-- instead of buying earrings to match the clothes! She picks out the earrings she wants to wear, and then picks out the clothes to wear that will show off the earrings! I think it's so cute she does it that way!

New assignment using mottled backdrop...

Here are some things I've been working on for my next homework assignment for my class. I didnt think working with colored backdrops would be hard- after doing the white ones, but it has actually been a little more tricky than I thought! I will post more as I get better at them. These were just my experimenting shots. I'll post my actual assignment photos after I finish them.

Photography Class Photo

Here is my first completed homework assignment for my Studio Lights Photography class. Camerin is so beautiful!

This is only part one of my assignment for shooting a high key white background, close-up. The other two assignments for this aren't done yet.. I plan on using my neice, Quincie, as my model. She is gorgeous and I am excited to photograph her. Be sure to check back in a few days to see if I've completed all my homework! Wish me luck! This has been so challenging but so rewarding.
